HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A CHAMPION OF JUSTICE AND HUMANITY

Omoyele Sowore is a name synonymous with courage, strength, and unrelenting commitment to justice. For decades, he has fearlessly championed the cause of the oppressed, using his platform to amplify the voices of the voiceless and challenge systemic injustices. As a journalist, activist, and advocate for good governance, he has risked his life countless times to ensure that the truth is heard and that fundamental rights are upheld.

Through his tireless activism, Sowore has provided a space for many to stand up against oppression, empowering individuals to demand accountability and fairness. His contributions to the fight for democracy, freedom of speech, and human rights have left an indelible mark on Nigeria and beyond. His bravery in confronting corruption and injustice has inspired generations of activists and given hope to those yearning for a better society.

In one of my articles published last year, I rightfully referred to Sowore as the "custodian of human rights"—a title he has earned through his relentless dedication to defending the marginalized, even when it meant putting himself in harm’s way. He has fought countless battles for the oppressed, standing up for those he has never even met, driven purely by the desire to see justice prevail.

On this special occasion, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you, Omoyele Sowore. I want you to know that we are with you, watching the unfolding events, and standing by you in solidarity. For decades, you have been a lighthouse of hope, a defender of the weak, and a fearless warrior for justice. Your sacrifices and contributions to humanity will never be forgotten.

From my humble self and the global community of human rights advocates, activists, and all those committed to making the world a better place, we say a profound thank you. May the heavens bless your kind heart, granting you the strength and wisdom to continue your noble fight for the less privileged.

Wishing you a tremendous and fulfilling birthday, Omoyele Sowore! May your days be filled with renewed strength, boundless courage, and the ultimate triumph of justice.

Music has a way of bringing people together, and some connections formed through it stand the test of time. One such bond is the one I share with Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, popularly known as Jaywon. A few years ago, I received a call from him: "Boss, I'm in Abuja. Please send your address, I want to come and see you, sir." Within minutes, he arrived at my residence in Wuse 2, Abuja, accompanied by his manager and some crew members. Jaywon has always been a humble young man, and seeing him again reminded me of the passion and determination he has carried throughout his career. Jaywon’s journey into music began in the early 2000s when he was just another young man with dreams of making it big in the Nigerian music industry. I vividly remember his first performances in 2004 at my musical show, where I featured the likes of Daniel Wilson, W4, Righteous Man, Rocksteady, and Rymzo, among many other talented artists of that era. It was clear from the beginning that he had something ...
